Epidemiology

  • Benign fibromyxoid lesion
  • Peak incidence in middle-aged adults

Clinical Features

  • Slowly growing nodule on digit
  • Often painless
  • May cause nail deformity

Location

  • Acral: fingers and toes (classic)
  • Periungual and subungual region
  • Palm of hand and sole of feet

Imaging

  • MRI: myxoid mass with fibrosis
  • Radiograph: may show Bone erosion

Pathology

Myxoid or collagenous troma with bland fibroblasts

Genetics

Deletion of RB1 gene

Treatment

Marginal excision

Prognosis

Low recurrence if completely excised
